Byron & Francine Pirola | FRANKLY Creative Directors

Married for 25 years, with 5 children, Byron & Francine Pirola are the founders and co-authors of the SmartLoving Series – marriage enrichment and marriage preparation courses designed to help build successful and resilient marriages. International speakers and authors of numerous articles on marriage, more than 3000 couples have attended their programs, workshops and conferences in Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain

Byron & Francine are Executive Directors of the Marriage Resource Centre from which they run SmartLoving programs and produce digital resources. They are members Australian Catholic Marriage and Family Council, an advisory body to the Australian Catholic Bishops. Francine currently serves on the executive of the Catholic Society of Marriage Educators.

Francine graduated from Fordham University with a Masters in Religion and Religious Education. Byron is a founding partner of strategic consulting firm, Port Jackson Partners Limited, and a Director of both listed and unlisted companies. He holds a PhD from the Commonwealth Centre for Gene Technology, Adelaide University.

Marilyn Rodrigues | FRANKLY Editor

Marilyn Rodrigues is a writer, wife and mother of five young children. In addition to FRANKLY she is the editor of the Cathfamily monthly e-newsletter. is a website dedicated to assisting families in making the home the living heart of the Church, by providing relevant articles and innovative resources to help families tailor faith rituals at home which complement the Church’s liturgy.

She has written for a number of secular and Church publications and organisations, and has won a number of awards for her Pitter Patter column in Sydney’s archdiocesan newspaper, The Catholic Weekly, in which she reflects on motherhood and spirituality. She is also a regular contributor to the Wollongong diocese’s radio program The Journey. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from the University of Sydney, and a postgraduate qualification in journalism from UTS.

Kiara Pirola | FRANKLY Concept Design

Kiara Pirola is the former editor and designer of CathFamily, a website dedicated to assisting families in making the home the living heart of the Church. Kiara is a self-taught graphic designer and has a Bachelors degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame in Sydney. She is currently undertaking a Masters degree in International Relations at the University of NSW, Sydney.
